Soulcalibur IV tits2/25/2024 Soulcalibur IV boasts the standard Arcade and Story modes that will be familiar to fighting game fans. As you might expect, Soulcalibur IV also has a healthy number of modes and unlockables that will keep you thoroughly engaged, along with a new online mode that lets you challenge other Soulcalibur fanatics through the magical power of the Internet. There are over 30 characters to try out (granted, some of them are clones of each other), several gorgeous stages to battle in and enough special moves to keep you memorizing commands for months. Soulcalibur IV is a great game - especially if you've been following and enjoying the series for the past few years. I'm pleased to say that this game is an excellent addition to the series - despite its problems - and should find a welcome spot in your collection. I was particularly excited to play Soulcalibur IV, especially in light of my fondness for the first Soulcalibur title. Making its debut on the current generation of platforms, Soulcalibur IV once again offers fantastical, weapons-based combat and an inspired cast of characters, which should be appetizing to fighting game enthusiasts and casual players alike. The Apprentice, since he was more of a Grey Jedi, incorporated both Yoda and Darth Vader’s fighting styles in his moveset.Quite a number of gamers have been eagerly anticipating the next installment of the Soulcalibur series, considering the notable quality of past iterations of the franchise. Yoda was the smallest character in the game, and was highly mobile. Each of them was equipped with special Force powers on top of their signature lightsabers.ĭarth Vader was a punisher, easily countering enemy attacks with the Force. That said, even though it was strange for Jedis and Siths to duel katar-wielding dancers and bo staff-wielding martial artists, the Star Wars characters were definitely fun to play. Soulcalibur was set in the 17th century, and the only explanation for this crossover was the fact that Star Wars took place “a long time ago”. When the three Star Wars characters were announced for Soulcalibur IV, fans of both franchises thought that it was weird and a clash of aesthetics. On the other hand, Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Lightsaber Duels on the Wii was a middling attempt at adding motion controls to a fighting game. The Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith video game came with a two-player duel mode, which was a really underrated, albeit simple, Star Wars fighting game. Needless to say, it was not well received due to its clunky controls and lack of balance. The most infamous foray into the fighting game genre came with 1997’s Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi, a 3D fighting game that let players duke it out as Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, and more. The franchise did well in all kinds of video game genres, but Soulcalibur IV is probably the most successful when it came to including Star Wars in the fighting game genre. While Bandai Namco’s fighting game is known for their crossovers, this was one of their strangest yet.įor a franchise centered around the battle of good versus evil, Star Wars never ventured far into the realm of fighting games. One of these endeavours was the inclusion of Yoda, Darth Vader and The Apprentice from The Force Unleashed in the Soulcalibur IV roster.
